Thrushtox
Anit-bacterial solution for use on equine frogs, designed by a master farrier - 'Simply spray on the frog'
How to use Thrushtox:
Move the horse to a firm, dry area. Pick out the foot throughly and remove all debris, and dry the sole of the foot and the frog.
Clean the sole of the foot and the frog using a hard, stiff brush, making sure that you remove any smelly, black tissue. Take care not to press too much on the frog with the brush as the horse may find it uncomfortable.
Then, holding the hoof inverted and holding the bottle upright, simply spray the affected area from a distance of approximately one inch, thoroughly spraying the Thrushtox deeply into the crevices and clefts of the frog. Any loose flaps on the frog should also have solution sprayed under them.
When you have finished, leave the horse on dry, hard standing for approximately 5 minutes.
If applying Thrushtox to a shod hoof with a pad on, hold the hoof so that the toe points towards the ground and carefully spray directly into the space between the pad and the frog, holding the bottle as close as possible to the edge of the pad.
For best results, use at least 2/3 times per day.
