Mud Stop Disinfectant Shampoo is an exceptionally mild, high quality shampoo and liquid soap with antibacterial and antifungal activity.
This shampoo is so powerful that it passess the European tests for surgical scrubs and the suspension test for 'dirty' conditions, and yet is so safe that it can be used in food handling situations.
Excessive exposure to moisture, mud and its consequences are an inevitable part of the British outdoors. The effects on a horse can be unpleasant, damaging and difficult to manage. The damage is often caused by prolonged water exposure softening the skin, or abrasion by fine grit in the mud, followed by the invasion of various microorganisms that thrive on these conditions.
Mud Stop Disinfectant Shampoo, used as instructed, is said to reduce the number of pathogenic bacteria five times more effectively than washing with normal soap shampoos. It contains a blend of two proven bacteriocidal and anti-fungal agents which have been demonstrated to complement each other's effectiveness. This dual action not only improves effectiveness in use but also helps prevent the rise of resistant organisms.
The shampoo does not contain chlorhexidine (which can cause staining of clothers) and can be used in conjunction with other Mud Stop products.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:
It is always advisable to wear rubber gloves if there is any risk that there is infection present. Always have a bucket of water and disinfectant available for gloved hands, brushes etc.
Mud Stop Disinfectant Shampoo is a high quality concentrated product. A little goes a long way.
If the horse is dry, add water at 1-2 times the volume of shampoo, or lightly spray the horse before starting.
If the horse is already wet, just spread a small portion of the shampoo across the palm of the gloves and gently rub in to the horse to create a fine lather. Leave for five minutes and then rinse off, taking care to rinse off the gloves before picking up other containers, tools, hose or tack.
